1. Niloufar Lovegrove (Pishva) نیلوفر پیشوا, Echoed Shelter, 2025, hand printed lino on layered papers, 64 x 45 cm. $750

In their continual fight for freedom, many hands protect and strengthen the hope for the future. The layered paper honors both the living and those who have perished, whose courage continues to guide the path forward. Women, Life, Freedom.

Niloufar Lovegrove (Pishva) نیلوفر پیشوا, originally from Iran, is a printmaker and visual artist based in central Queensland, living on Darumbal land. Blending contemporary themes with mythological Persian narratives, her work transcends cultural boundaries to explore shared human experiences. A contemplative approach to her medium balances craftsmanship with visual storytelling, while large-scale public art projects highlight her dedication to engaging diverse audiences.

Widely exhibited in her region, Lovegrove has received the prestigious Bayton Award for her sculptural work. More recently, national recognition has followed, with a shortlist placement in National Works on Paper (NWOP) and a win in the renowned Burnie Print Prize.

Following a successful solo exhibition at Artspace Mackay—where Artbank acquired one of her installations—she is currently presenting new solo works at Creative Whitehorse in Melbourne and selected pieces at Onespace Gallery in Brisbane.
