Isabella Kennedy
8. Isabella Kennedy, Overleaf, 2025, screen print on kozo paper, 35 x 33.5 cm. NFS
Overleaf considers the recto and verso sides of a page and of a life—the desire to understand more about a person posthumously and the act of continuously turning over memories in an effort to hold on and preserve the deceased.
Isabella Kennedy is a multidisciplinary artist, living and working on Gadigal land in Sydney. Informed by family narratives of loss, disappearance and dispossession, Kennedy’s work explores intergenerational grief and communal power dynamics. Interior and exterior spaces curve and cleave. They are inverted, amplified, open and slowed, reflecting repeated attempts to both hold on and let go – asking what it means to be held.
