Harriett Clark

Harriett Clark is an emerging Sydney based Artist. Her practice explores the presence of self and observation of the other within the surrounding environments of the everyday. She has a multi- disciplinary practice, which explores processes of automatic mark making predominantly within intaglio printmaking.

This selection of etchings are a recording and documentation of a sensory engagement with ones surroundings. Focusing in on the insignificant components which construct the in-between and backdrop of place and space. That being a meditative process of reflection and mark-making in response to sounds, movements and happenings which otherwise go unnoticed. Ultimately this process acting as a grounding to self and the surrounding everyday environment.

Remastered and Chewing away at old thoughts (2021) are the start of a warming back up to the press, after a limiting 2020 in terms of access to the print studio. Two friends rekindling with one another after being kept apart for too long...
