#35 | SFO TYO 07190220, 2021, screenprint on paper, 40 x 65 cm, $200.

This misprint is the culmination of many weeks work and many hours printing. It was the test sheet for the biggest most involved print I have made thus far; a six layer print featuring CMYK, halftone, and flocking (!!! - flocking is traditionally used for fabric printing) on paper. This misprint does not feature the flocking but instead shows the process of establishing that my ink levels and printing were correct before I printed on the expensive paper. I tend to hold on to all my my misprints and tests (even the ones on newsprint!) As I feel it tells an authentic story of the work that went in to create the final print. Additionally, I have a strong interest in ephemera so tend to collect anything and everything from my creative practice. Despite this work being the test sheet I think it perfectly encapsulates the central theme of the work; the fallibility of memory and locational recognition.
